Alexandra Garrison - Crew # 2137
When I first heard of the smart ride in 2019, I was immediately excited to be a part of it, but was too late to join. Now this year, the ride will look a little different due to the current pandemic. But still, I have committed to do my part. The Smart Ride is 165-mile bike ride from Miami to Key West in support of a future free of AIDS. Although this year we won't be riding that trail, we have committed to 165 minutes of some form of exercise whether that be a bike ride, walk, run or a hike. I have made a personal goal to complete 165 miles on a stationary bike by Friday November 20th, and Saturday November 21st and am asking for your support! This year will mark the 17th year of The SMART Ride journey, I have set an ambitious goal to help raise more than the required $1250 because I believe what we do makes a difference (and because 100% of the money you donate will go back to the community).
This year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Broward House has been greatly impacted by lack of fundraiser opportunities. Our fundraising efforts go 100% towards client services including helping to purchase medications, clothes, toiletries, supplies for school and so many other things. This year, I am asking that 100 friends and family help in donating $16.50 to reach my goal of $1,650.00.
We can share the words of Margaret Mead "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world, indeed; it is the only thing that ever has."
