Mark Loehr - Rider # 114
2017 marks my 2nd year of riding from Miami to Key West. For those of you that know me, my training never ended after last year's ride. I continue to make my rides up and down A1A every weekend. Nice and flat with a few humps (bridges).
As Hurricane Irma caused the 2017 ride to be postponed, I am happy to hear that it has been rescheduled for Jan 19th and 20th. As you can imagine, a logistical challenge for the ride directors to find rooms for so many riders and support in the middle of high season.
I will join hundreds of other individuals who will ride their bicycles or crew from Miami to Key West 165-miles. Our journey will be one filled with hope, filled with pride, and filled with the dream of a future free of AIDS. This year will mark the 14th year of The SMART Ride journey, I have set an ambitious goal to help raise more than the required $1250 because I believe what we do makes a difference (and because 100% of the money you donate will go back to the community).
I will ride with the Broward House team again this year. What an incredible organization!
