Corey Kukowski - Crew # 2132
On Friday November 17th, and Saturday November 18th I will be heading south along the Overseas Highway on the way to Key West with hundreds of other cyclists and crew members to help raise money and awareness about HIV and AIDS.
Most people believe this disease is pretty much taken care of with medications to prolong lives and PReP to keep HIV away, well we are far from taking care of this disease. Most people know this has turned into a chronic disease that is mostly taken care of with medications, however I have friends who have passed away in the last year from complications of the meds or from coming off their meds due to the side effects. HIV and AIDS is not over. Know that I will continue to volunteer on some event or another until this disease is eradicated!
This year will mark the 14th year of The SMART Ride journey, and my 5th time volunteering on the event. What I like most about this event is the guarantee that every penny that I raise (with your help) will be given to AIDS Service Organizations and directed to prevention, education and direct services.
Please donate what you can, wait, better yet donate lots! Hope to see some of you on the event this year. I will be once again sweeping my way south, helping those stranded riders along the way!
