Ilene Leverence - Rider # 23
Everyone has a bucket list! Everyone has that really special love! This year I decided to mark one off my bucket
list. It was a year ago, I went “base
over apex” off my bicycle, resulting in serious injuries, and a long recovery
road. As we all know, you get back in
the saddle and ride!
As part of my healing, I am back on the bike,
training for the chance to check one off my bucket list.
I will participate in the Smart Ride 2018 ride
with my son. Seth has done this ride for
14 years to support those he works with and this is my year to join him!
I will be a part of the Give a Shift Team for the
Smart Ride, 165 miles from Miami to Key West, November 16 & 17. Please
consider sponsoring me (Rider #23) for this ride and very worthy cause at:
Please read on about this cause as we join to
fight the AIDS epidemic in our country!
riday November 16th, and Saturday November 17th I will join hundreds of other individuals who will ride their bicycles or crew from Miami to Key West 165-miles. Our journey will be one filled with hope, filled with pride, and filled with the dream of a future free of AIDS. This year will mark the 15th year of The SMART Ride journey, I have set an ambitious goal to help raise more than the required $1250 because I believe what we do makes a difference (and because 100% of the money you donate will go back to the community).
The event guarantees that every penny that I raise (with your help) will be given to AIDS Service Organizations and directed to prevention, education and direct services. Together we can make a real difference, we can change the world, and help free future generations of living with HIV, while helping those already affected, infected or at risk today stay healthy.
We can share the words of Margaret Mead "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has".
