Nicole Elinoff - Rider # 193
On October 30th 2012, I received the call that
would change my life forever. One of the closest people in my world had passed
away from AIDS Related Complications. Just like that, I was stopped in my
tracks and did not know how to process this news. Shortly after, I knew that I
must dedicate my lifes work towards fighting the HIV epidemic.
I have been in the HIV arena for three years now, working as
a volunteer, HIV tester, HIV prevention Director, and now as a Regional Coordinator
for the Florida Department of Health. Every day I think of my family and the
legacy I am continuing by being in this work. We have come a long way in the
fight but have so much more to go!
I am now taking my work and dedication to the next level by
pushing myself in one of the most challenging physical events I’ve ever done. On Friday November 17th, and Saturday November 18th I will
join hundreds of other individuals who will ride their bicycles from Miami to
Key West, 165-miles.
The event guarantees that every penny that I
raise (with your help) will be given to AIDS Service Organizations and directed
to prevention, education and direct services. This ride truly makes a difference
and impact on hundreds of lives.
As my family says, it truly does take a
village. Please donate as much as you can for me to reach my goal ($1250) and
continue to make an impact in Central Florida.
