John Medina - Rider # 93
Last September 2015, a few friends and I gathered in Miami to throw our friend Eric a brodal shower. On the bus ride from Miami to Key West, I thought to myself how awesome it would be to ride my bike from Miami to Key West! Crazy, I know! But after riding 545 miles from SF to LA, Miami to Key West would seem to be a piece of cake. So I did some research and found that there is an organized bike ride from Miami to Key West...and it's a charity ride for HIV/AIDS prevention, education and care called the SMART Ride!
So on November 17-18, 2017, I will join hundreds of other riders who will ride their bikes from Miami ("The Magic City") to Key West ("the Southernmost City in the Continental US") for a total of 165 miles. Our journey will be filled with hope, pride, and the dream of a future free of HIV/AIDS.
I have set an ambitious goal to raise $1250 because I believe each of us can make a difference in the lives of others and in our communities. The funds we raise will support HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout Florida, and will support programs directed towards prevention, education and care for the following agencies: AIDS Help (Monroe County), Pridelines Youth Services (Dade County), Children's Diagnostic and Treatment Center (Broward County), COMPASS (Palm Beach County), Broward House, Metro Wellness and Community Centers (Tampa/St. Pete), and Miracle of Love (Orlando).
I am inviting you to join me in this effort by making a tax-deductible gift to the SMART Ride today by going to the link below!
As HRC reminded us, let's do all the good we can, for all the people we can, in all the ways we can, for as long as we can, because, as LMM proclaimed, love is love is love is love is love...
