Nick Bell - Rider # 385
This year has become a very trying time for millions of Americans. The pandemic and its associated economic impact is having devastating consequences. Not surprisingly, organizations that depend on charitable contributions are being hit hard. In most cases, the organizations we support have had to cancel all fundraising activities, which means the people who depend on those charities are suffering.
For this reason, I've again signed up for this year's Smart Ride to help raise funds for those suffering from HIV/AIDS and the charities who strive to service them with everything from medications to food to educational resources.
This year's ride will be "reimagined" due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, my fellow cyclists and I won't be able to ride the 165-miles from Miami to Key West November 20 and 21. Instead, all riders will be riding that weekend, either individually or with their teammates, in their local communities. We'll keep track of each other via a mobile app that will track all our individual journeys. Even though we won't all be together, we hope the results will still be the same - raising much-needed money to help those in need during these very unusual and very trying times.
I have been blessed with very generous support in the past and I hope I can count on you this year. Your support is needed now more than ever! Please donate any amount you feel comfortable with, and remember no amount is too small. And as in previous years, The Smart Ride is 100% volunteer-run which means 100% of your tax deductible donation goes directly to support those in need.
